Liz Kendall to John Pienaar this morning on Radio 5: “The most important thing is to get elected”

But is it?

At the end of life when taking stock of the way it has been lived, will it have been more important to have been an MP or a minister, or to have stood honestly by what you believe?

Honest people like Jeremy Corbyn will be able to look back with an easy mind, knowing that they made no compromises, no betrayals, and spoke the truth as they saw it.

Others who did compromise, betray, lie and ‘feather their nests’, will see the tortuous political sham for what it is – too late.
