Not only leading politicians but their sons and daughters – etc

There has been widespread reporting of the hiring of the children of prominent Chinese officials and businessmen by JPMorgan, allegedly to help it win lucrative contracts in the country. This is now being ‘probed’ by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Yet for many years in Britain little publicity has been given to another set of banking recruits mentioned in passing by Martin Arnold: the sons and daughters of leading politicians and businessmen parachuted into plum ambassadorial positions to open doors for the banks.
